2010 will be the 7th year we arrange the Dylanfestival. The festival is a get together of people from all over Norway; (people from Scandinavia and some European countries also attend) who have a keen interest in Bob Dylan, his music, lyrics as well as his view on America and its place in history.

The festival is a get together of Dylan fans who read and study Dylan’s lyrics, we have photo exhibitions from well know photographers who has followed Bob Dylan, we feature film and video with Dylan and his work, and not the least, we have artist from Norway and abroad who perform their versions of Dylan’s songs and lyrics. From the international list of artists, I would like to mention Elliott Murphy from USA and Olivier Durand from France.

The festival is growing every year, even with a limited budget, we aim to try to get artists and people to come and enjoy the forum, the get together of man and women alike who share an interest in Bob Dylan and his art work.

08:00 p.m. "Open Mic Night"
The "Open Mic Night" on the opening day of the Dylan Festival. The organizers are trying to recreate something of the atmosphere of coffee houses in Greenwich Village in the early 1960's. Like all Dylan fans know, Bob Dylan arrived in New York on the evening of 24 January 1961 and immediately set course for the Café Wha? where there was a free-for anyone to take the podium. Dylan performed with some of his early protest songs and made them immediately noticed the display environment. It is expected a rush of Dylan interpreters, both happy amateur and more professional troubadours, when the Dylan festival this year begins with a similar Open mic night at Arnold's Pub.
